Loves Park, IL- Midwest Enduro Series officials announced the RoadRunner Rampage, a 250 lap event for the weekly Rockford Speedway RoadRunners, taking place at 1pm on Sunday June 28th. Joining the action of the Midwest Enduro Series Mac Tools 250 at Rockford Speedway, RoadRunner teams are invited to compete in this unique event.
“The RoadRunners excite the fans at Rockford every Saturday night, we have been trying to figure out how to include them in this event, I think Darryl Traber along with his Midwest Enduro crew have developed a great plan to allow our drivers to compete.” commented Speedway General Manager Gregg McKarns. Based on a minimum 15 car RoadRunner field which would race alongside the Midwest Enduro regulars, the RoadRunner Rampage winner would have a $300 pay day. With the addition of mandatory pit stops as well as the extended distance, this has become a one of kind event for the RoadRunner faithful.
Four pit passes are included within the $100 entry fee, allowing for the additional crew members needed for the quarter century run around the quarter mile high banked Rockford Speedway. For a class that competes in 20 lap feature events under the NASCAR banner, the RoadRunner Rampage could very well become the marquee event of the season for these grassroots racers. Additional events scheduled for June 28 include a Powder Puff race as well as the Small Car 125 Enduro for 4 cylinder cars.
