LOVES PARK, IL (Tuesday, July 21, 2009) - Rockford Speedway officials announced today that the Rockford Area Day Camp Afternoon Sparktacular originally scheduled for Wednesday, July 8th will not be rescheduled during the 2009 season. The original date was rained out, forcing track management to seek an additional date.

“After talking to many of the day camps as well as our drivers, their summer schedules are set.” Commented event coordinator Susan Deery. “We will now turn our attention toward the 2010 event for these great kids.” Traditionally, well over one thousand area youngsters fill the speedway stands for an afternoon of motorsports thrills.

The 2009 Rockford Speedway season continues with two nights of racing this week. Wednesday night marks the first Tebala Shrine Wild Wednesday Shriner’s Night with the Shriners taking to the track. On Saturday night July 25 the stars of the ASA Late Model North Series will contest the All-Star 100.
