Speedway Reaches Out to Safety Community

Loves Park, IL- This Saturday night all public safety officers will be granted free admission into the Rockford Speedway for the Whelen NASCAR Championship Night. The invite is open to any and all firemen, policemen, ambulance personnel, and dispatchers from any department. Those attending are asked to display their department issued identification at the speedway box office for admittance.

While members of the area Public Safety Community have been extremely busy in recent weeks, the Speedway wishes to thank those who keep our neighborhoods safe. “The men and women that protect our families deserve our support and we felt this was a great way of showing our gratitude for the countless hours they spend on the job.” Commented Rockford Speedway General Manager Gregg McKarns. “With a title sponsor like Whelen that supplies sirens and safety lights to many area departments, this is a perfect night to pull this all together.”

Season Championships will be decided in all four NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions. Racing action starts at 7:07 Saturday with adult general admission tickets priced at $10, ages 6-11 are $5 with children ages 5 and under admitted free. A Fan Appreciation Post-Race Party with Live Music is planned as well as numerous Give-A-Ways throughout the evening’s racing action.
