Loves Park, IL (Friday May 7, 2010) NASCAR Day will be celebrated at Rockford Speedway on Saturday May 15, 2010. Fans can help celebrate NASCAR Day by making a $5 donation for a collectible lapel pin at the ticket gate at Rockford Speedway. By wearing the NASCAR Day pin this Saturday Night spectators will receive $2 off of their adult admission ticket.
The racing action on May 15, will begin at 7:07pm and will include the School Bus Jump and the Kids Candy Scramble on the track, ages 11 and under will be admitted free. Saturday night will also see the return of the Bargain Hunter Sportsman, as well as, Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models, Mtn Dew Roadrunners, Super Cups and the Sam’s Drive-in Smokey Burnouts.
NASCAR Day is an annual celebration of the NASCAR spirit, donations support programs that make a difference in the lives of children. It was founded in 2004 and has since raised almost $8 million for charity. NASCAR Day allows fans, the NASCAR community and sponsors to come together and help children live happier and healthier lives. Money raised through NASCAR Day and the NASCAR Foundation has sent more than 500 children to the Victory Junction Camp, provides medical care to more than 19,000 pediatric patients annually, has granted more than 500 NASCAR themed wishes, and offered children a safe place to play in the race track communities across the country.
