Loves Park, IL (August 4, 2010) With the end of summer in sight parents are stocking up on school supplies, kids are enjoying their last few days of freedom and the staff of Rockford Speedway is preparing for the World Famous Figure 8 Trailer Race presented by Kar Korner this Saturday, a fan favorite since 1984.

The racing action has been intense in the weeks leading up to a night usually thought of for destruction, fenders have been flying as the point battles tighten in each NASCAR division. Last weekend saw three rollovers including a spectacular pirouette by Late Model Rookie point leader Steve Erickson, Jr who will return to action Saturday night. Two time defending track champion Jerry Gille claimed the feature victory while Jon Reynolds, Jr claimed runner-up honors, increasing the pressure on point leader Tim Sargent.

The racing action begins at 7:07pm and will include the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models, Bargain Hunter Sportsman, Budweiser American Short Trackers, Mtn Dew RoadRunners. Adult general admission bleacher seats are $15, general admission for children 11 and under is $5, reserved adult grandstand admission is $18 while reserved admission for children 11 and under is $9.
