Loves Park, IL (August 4, 2010) Kris Nilson proved he has what it takes in the Mtn Dew RoadRunner Super Summer Series Wednesday night. Nilson had a first place finish with Mike Swanson finishing second and Gene Marocco in third. Nilson had a fast car all night, along with his feature win he also had the fastest time during qualifying. Dennis Smith Jr. had troubles early in the night when he lost a tire-literally, while driving down the front stretch his right rear tire came off and continued on where it passed him in turn one bounced off the wall and continued down the back stretch where it finally came to rest.

The Allison Legacy and Legends Features were combined making for a special treat for spectators. While the cars were run together, they were scored separately. Dwight Dunlap finished first in the Allison Legacy Feature, battling against second place finisher Kyle Voss for most of the race. Rachel Pinkerman won the Legends feature, and was able to pull away from the second place Legend car of Cory Cootware as well as the Allison Legacy cars early on in the race.

Twelve year old Cory Cootware had a busy night running in both the Legends race and the Bandolero race. Cootware finished second in the Legends Feature and won the Bandolero Feature, with Deanna Chandler finishing second and Morgan Melichar finishing third.

The Hornet Swarm was action packed as always, Nick Lasher was able to hold off Devon Dixon for the win, both drivers had to battle lap cars during the final laps of the race. Things got complicated when Chandale Swartwout lost a tire with eight laps to go. Swartwout, like Dennis Smith Jr. before her lost her tire the hard way, it came completely off of her machine and propelled itself down the backstretch before coming to a rest. Hornets points leader Vinny Mangiaracina wrangled a fifth place finish.

Tom Schneider was able to secure a win in the Figure 8 race, over Dennis Smith Jr., with Dan Carlson finishing third and Lloyd Hawkins coming in fourth. As always there were many breath catching moments during the Figure 8 race, with many of the drivers dirt trackin’ it around the corners, no doubt getting spectators revved up for this Saturday’s World Famous Figure 8 Trailer Race.

Rockford local Tracy Wallin won the Winged Women on Wheels Feature, with Olivia Chance finishing in second and double dipper Chandale Swartwout in third. Swartwout competed in both the Winged Women on Wheels Feature and the Hornet Swarm.
