
Loves Park, IL- Rockford Speedway will play host to the Goblin 250 Enduro plus Darkhorse Demolition Derbies this Sunday afternoon October 24, bringing down the curtain on an exciting race season. This event, featuring a family friendly format includes a Kid’s Costume Contest, Kid’s Candy Scramble, 250 laps of action featuring well over 100 cars wrecking and racing their way around the high banked quarter mile oval and Monza courses, and a record four demolition derbies.
The 2009 version witnessed 131 four cylinder stock cars take the Goblin 250 green flag with Janesville, WI resident Scott Dixon claiming the checkered flag. Advance entries for this year’s running are ahead of last year’s pace for this rain or shine event. The first half of the race is run on the historic Rockford oval, following a midrace refueling stop and Kid’s Candy Scramble, the remaining drivers will take on the ultra challenging Monza course for the final distance.
The Darkhorse Demolition Derbies will cap off the day with a record four demos scheduled, Fair, Nostalgia, Truck and Compact Classes will enter the ring. Adult admission is just $10, ages 6-11 are $5, children 5 and under are admitted FREE. Spectator gates open at 11, Kid’s Costume Contest begins at 12:30 with the Goblin 250 starting at 1pm.
