Kid’s Free, School Bus Jump Saturday

Saturday May 28 is the first kids’ night of the 2011 Rockford Speedway season, allowing children ages 11 and under into the NASCAR Races free of charge. Kids will want to arrive by 6:30 and bring their chalk so they can chalk draw on the track, plus the first 500 kids will receive a NASCAR 1:64 scale diecast racecar. The night will feature the NASCAR Stanley Steemer Late Models, Bargain Hunter Sportsman, Mtn Dew RoadRunners, the Sam’s Drive-In Stop ‘N Go Race and will be capped off by the School Bus Jump. Spectator gates open at 5, qualifying is at 5:55, chalk drawing at 6:30 and the first big race is at 7:07. Open Wheel Racing Not Just For Indy
The Illini Midgets return to action this Saturday night at Rockford Speedway. The open wheeled excitement brought fans to their feet last season and promises to do the same this Memorial Day weekend.

Vintage Stock Car and Xtreme Sprint Car on Display Saturday
Get an up close look at an Illinois Vintage Stock Car as well as a Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Car this Saturday night on the main concourse of Rockford Speedway. The Vintage cars will take to the track next Saturday June 4 while the big winged Sprints of the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Car Series will make their first ever visit to Rockford on Sunday July 3.

Big 8 Racing Monday at Columbus 151
The Stars and Cars of the Big 8 Late Model Series will be in action Memorial Day Monday at Columbus 151 during the Holiday special event. They will be joined by the 40 lap Bandit Blast as well as the popular Back Up Cars. A 68 lap main event plus progressive racing heat races are on tap for the Late Models. Gates open at 11, qualifying at 11:15, first race 1pm. Adult tickets are $12, ages 6-10 are $5 with kids 5 and under admitted free. For those of you that have not been to Columbus 151, it is just over an hour from Rockford Speedway, between Columbus and Sun Prairie, WI at Exit 111 off of US 151.
