Loves Park, IL- The new Misfits division at Rockford Speedway, best described as a catch-all for scaled racing machines such as Allison Legacy, FIRA Mini Indy, Rascal Outlaws, Mini Mods and the like, will now be split into separate divisions, racing at the same time. An open wheeled as well as a fender class will take to the high banks of Rockford Speedway every Wild Wednesday, with a winner being declared in each subclass as well as separate points being awarded for each class, including last week’s season opening event.

“We needed to see the product on the track first to best determine a way to even things up, with the speed of the open wheeled cars, we felt it best just to split them this way and let em race.” Commented Rockford Speedway General Manager Gregg McKarns. “The open wheeled cars will start ahead of their fender bearing counterparts, so we will have two races within the race, with two distinct winners each night, much like they have done for years in road racing.” Racing action continues the Wednesday night July 6 during Rockford Industrial Welding Supply night, with 9 divisions in action.
