FREE HAND WARMERS HEAT UP ROCKFORD SPEEDWAY SATURDAY

Loves Park, IL- Summer may have arrived early in the Midwest this year, but forecasters predict the return of cooler temperatures this Saturday when NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing resumes at Rockford Speedway. Speedway officials will combat the chill in the air by giving free hand warmers to the first one thousand spectators through the gates Saturday night.

“The racing was phenomenal last Saturday night and we want to make sure a little cold weather doesn’t keep our fans from witnessing any of the great action.” Commented Rockford Speedway General Manager Gregg McKarns. “We should be used to the cold, but all of us may have become a little spoiled by the early Spring warmth. With free hand warmers, hot chocolate for a dollar plus heated battles on the track, it promises to be a memorable night.”

This Saturday’s Tractor Town Buck Night will feature select food and drink items for just one dollar and also marks the first of eleven Miller Lite Dollar Beer Nights during the 2012 season. Racing includes the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models, Bargain Hunter Sportsman, RockStar Energy RoadRunners as well as the Sam’s Drive-In RoadRunner Challenge and as a special bonus, Figure 8 racing. Spectator gates open at 5pm, qualifying gets underway at 5:55pm and Stateline Staffing Services Dashes Go Green at 7:07pm. Adult general admission tickets are $12, students ages 12-17 are $8, kids ages 6-11 are $5 with children ages 5 and under admitted free.
