Preparations for the 2013 Rockford Speedway Season are underway and it will not take long for the season to reach top speed. Cars will hit the track for the first time on Saturday April 6 with the WXRX 104.9FM Stone and Double T 200 Enduro beginning at 3pm featuring nearly one-hundred four cylinder racecars taking on the oval as well as the tricky Monza course. Earlier in the day, the first open practice for all racing divisions will be held from 11am to 2:30pm.

The following weekend will see the running of the 36th annual Spring Classic boasting three great divisions including the Big 8 Late Model Series, Mid-American Stock Car Series and Illinois Vintage Racing Series. Saturday April 13 plays host to an open practice session as cars prepare for Sunday’s racing which is slated for 1pm. The Big 8 Late Models will battle for 108 laps while the Mid-American Cars will be featured in a 50 lap bout and the Illinois Vintage racers will showcase their machines in a 25 lap feature event, Sunday April 14.

On Saturday night April 20, the NASCAR Late Models, Sportsman, American Short Trackers and RoadRunners will participate in the 66th NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Season Opener. The first of twenty weekly Saturday Night racing programs will help set the stage for an exciting season of fun at the ¼ mile paved high banked oval. A complete 2013 Schedule of events will be released in mid-March. The next event on the calendar is the January 26 Champions’ Banquet putting the final touches on a highly competitive 2012 season.
