LOVES PARK, Ill. (Friday, April 23rd, 2010) -- NASCAR sanctioned racing is known for its family friendliness and the Rockford Speedway is no different. The 2010 season at the legendary high-banked oval just got a lot friender as the Family Section, which has been an alcohol-free zone for over a decade, will now also be a smoke-free zone. The Family Section is located on the backstretch in Section G and consists of four hundred and five seats, east of the start finish line.

During last Saturday’s Stone and Double T 200 Enduro, the Bargain Hunter sign in turn three of Rockford Speedway was destroyed, as not one, but two racecars blasted through the bulls eye logo of the popular local classified publication. It has been reported that both cars continued through the pit area and rejoined the field of 70 cars. The sign, which has been in place for two seasons had been glanced off of in past encounters but this is the first time it has been taken down during a collision.
