Loves Park, IL- Defending Rockford Speedway Champion Jerry Gille challenged his distant competitors from neighboring tracks, stating that “Rockford has the best drivers.” following his feature triumph earlier this month. This did not fall on deaf ears however, causing the rivalry between the two tracks to intensify after Gille’s comments were made known at Jefferson Speedway’s drivers meeting one week later. As the 2009 running of the Goodyear Stateline Challenge approaches, both fans and drivers of the two Midwest ovals are preparing for a short track showdown.

LOVES PARK, IL (Saturday, June 20, 2009) – Ricky Bilderback knew he had the fastest car early in the night and he showed it when the time was right, grabbing the lead three laps into the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models 30-lap main event and holding off a hard-charging Jon Reynolds Jr. for his third feature win of the season. Ron Morris collected his first career Bargain Hunter Sportsman feature win and Ricky Nielson brought home the top spot in the Mtn Dew RoadRunners headline event.

Loves Park, IL- Heavy rains indicated on the national radar moving into the Loves Park area have forced officials to postpone tonight’s Loves Park vs. Businessmen Grudge Race one week. The 40th annual event will now take place on Friday Night June 26 at Rockford Speedway featuring not only the Grudge Race but Powder Puff, Public Officials, Media and Hi-Way RV Racing as well as the Ground Thunder Fireworks Show and Demo Derby, the rescheduled event will start at 7:07.

LOVES PARK, IL (Wednesday, June 17, 2009) – After a brief hiatus from the Rockford Speedway, Alex Papini returned to victory lane tonight on the opening Wednesday night at the Rockford Speedway. Papini held off a hard-charging Gene Marocco to collect the first feature win for the 2009 Mtn Dew RoadRunner Super Summer Series. Nick Lasher also made his return to victory lane tonight at Rockford in the Crap Scrappers Hornet swarm. Rachael Pinkerman, Dwight Dunlap, Felisha Morgan, Cory Cootware and Tom Schneider also brought home feature victories.

LOVES PARK, IL. (Saturday, June 6, 2009) -- Jerry Gille held off late advances from Ryan Carlson and Ricky Bilderback to collect his first Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Model feature win of 2009 tonight at the Rockford Speedway. Several late cautions gave Carlson and Bilderback opportunities to make their move late but Gille was too tough and managed to prevail. Doug Bennett, BJ Sparkman and Bobby Frisch also collected feature wins in front of an enthusiastic crowd on Kar Korner’s World Famous Trailer Race Night.

LOVES PARK, IL. (Saturday, June 6, 2009) – Despite Mother Nature’s best efforts, the Kar Korner World Famous Trailer Race will still try to tame the high-banked quarter mile Rockford Speedway tonight. The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series will also be in action with all four divisions on the schedule, including an expected 20 late model entries. According to Weather.com, the current system of precipitation in the area will move out by 2:30pm, clearing the way for a great night at the races.

(Saturday, May 30, 2009) – Jake Gille celebrated his 21st birthday in style, albeit a week late, holding off Tim Noble and going wire-to-wire to bring home his first career Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Model feature win. An emotional Scott Lawver held off a hard-charging Fred Nason a week after the passing of Lawver’s father, collecting his second Bargain Hunter Sportsman feature win of 2009 and earning a standing ovation from a supportive crowd. Larry Dickinson II brought home the Mtn Dew RoadRunners main event.
