Race fans will have the chance to win $250 from Gilley’s Heating and Cooling this Saturday night at Rockford Speedway. Upon entering the speedway, fans will be invited to fill out an entry form before 8pm, selecting the top four finishers in order of the NASCAR Stanley Steemer Late Model feature, during Round I of the Gilley’s Cool 5 Series. A drawing will be held after the feature event of those that have the order correct, with $250 going to the winning fan, if the prize is not won it will carry over to the next Gilley’s Cool 5 event, Saturday June 25.

FRIDAY
The Main Parking Lots will open at 3pm, use Gate #2 off of Forest Hills Rd….Parking in the main speedway lot is FREE. Additional parking is available at the Harlem Community Baseball Diamonds just south of the Speedway on Forest Hills Rd, this express lot is $10 per car. Do not park in neighboring lots as you will be towed. Again, Main Speedway Lots open at 3 Friday afternoon, use Gate 2 off of Forest Hills Rd. Motorcycles, Handicap and those being dropped off at the concert utilize Gate 4 located at the Intersection of Illinois one seventy three and Burden Rd. As a reminder, all tailgating activities must stop once the music begins. Utilize these parking areas only, car pool and have fun at the concert.

LOVES PARK, Ill. (Saturday, May 7th, 2011) -- On the night before Mother's Day, fans and drivers alike ran the emotional gamut tonight at the Rockford Speedway. And while the flagstand may have been empty, the checkered flag still waved for Tim Sargent as the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models' defending champion made a late-race move to find his way back to victory lane and claim an emotional win on a night of healing.
Due to inclement weather that is expected to continue throughout the evening, Rockford Speedway has been forced to cancel tonight's NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing program.
Racing fans that bought tickets to tonight's scheduled program should save their ticket stubs. Those ticket stubs will get fans into the next two Rockford Speedway racing programs on May 7th or May 21st.
Drivers and pit crews should save their pit passes from tonight's events and they will be good for next weekend's racing action as well as May 21st.
Rockford Speedway is helping your money stay in your pocket as it presents the NASCAR Hometown Nights promotion for Northern Winnebago County. Residents of Roscoe, Rockton, and South Beloit have been selected to receive 2 for 1 admission to the racing action on Saturday May 7, 2011. Spectators just need to show proof of residency within one of the selected municipalities and keep their money in their pocket!
Scheduled events on Saturday May 7 include the NASCAR Stanley Steemer Late Models, Budweiser American Short Trackers, Mtn Dew RoadRunners, American Super Cup Series, and Sam’s Drive-In Morning Make-Up Dash RoadRunner Challenge. Events get underway at 5pm, with Qualifying at 6pm and the first race at 7:07.

Alex Papini saved the best for last, closing out a fast-paced evening with a slam bang door-to-door finish in the 20-lap Mtn Dew RoadRunners and leaving fans roaring their approval after Papini prevailed by a yard.
Fast qualifiers in each division line up for opening ceremonies to open up the 64th NASCAR WHELEN All-American Series at Rockford Speedway.

The talented hotshoe was in midseason form tonight during the Rockford Speedway’s historic 64th season opener, raining on his fellow competitors’ parade en route to a dominant opening night victory in the 30-lap Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models main event.
Loves Park, IL- Former Sportsman Champion Fred Nason has announced the formation of the “Nason’s Landscaping Fastest Bullet Award” for the 2011 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season at Rockford Speedway. The driver earning the most fast qualifying times throughout the season will receive a vintage, hand painted artillery shell as well as a cash bonus at year’s end.
