Loves Park, IL- The stars of two of the most intense weekly Late Model point battles of the season will set their sights on capturing the Big 8 Series 108 lap feature event this Saturday night during the 45th annual National Short Track Championships at Rockford Speedway. Current Big 8 Series point leader Jeremy Miller and Bobby Wilberg fought tooth and nail for the Madison International Speedway title while Tim Sargent topped Jon Reynolds, Jr in the weekly point fight at Rockford Speedway.

As of Thursday, the last driver to visit victory lane during Big 8 Series Spring Classic competition was planning on watching this Sunday’s race from the Rockford Speedway grandstand. Although it would be a great race to witness, he wanted to be a part of the 33rd annual Spring Classic, contending for another win in the tough Midwestern series. Michael Bilderback’s plans changed today.

Spring Classic Big 8 Entry List

This Sunday afternoon, the top weekly racers from Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota will begin their 2010 campaign on the high banks of Rockford Speedway. A total of 9 current and past short track champions have filed entries for the 33rd annual Spring Classic, which will see both the Big 8 Series Late Models and Mid-American Stock Cars in action. Three drivers looking to defend their 2009 triumphs will tighten their belts for the first time this season including two time defending Rockford Speedway titlist Jerry Gille, Madison International and 2007- 2008 Big 8 Series Champion Jeremy Miller as well as Dells Raceway Park Champ Corey Jankowski.

Rockford, IL- Big 8 Series officials released the Official Entry Form for the upcoming 33rd annual Spring Classic at Rockford Speedway. Entry Forms will be mailed to competitors or they can be downloaded at www.big8series.com. The event, which takes place on Sunday afternoon April 18 at the paved quarter mile high banked oval in Northern Illinois will mark many firsts for the sixth year series.

Loves Park, IL- The roster of drivers looking to capture the Loves Park Motorsports 108 lap feature this Saturday night October 3 during the 44th annual National Short Track Championships (NSTC) continues to grow. Included in the BRP Big 8 Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet list are three drivers with seven Rockford Speedway Championships each, three current track champions and rising stars alike.

LOVES PARK, IL (Sunday, April 26, 2009) – Mother Nature just doesn’t want to see any racing at Rockford Speedway this weekend as inclement weather has once again forced the cancellation of a season-opening event, this time the 32nd annual Spring Classic. The event will not be rescheduled for a third time after weather forced a postponement last Sunday as well. Over a half an inch of rain had already fallen overnight and showers were expected to continue throughout the day forcing the cancellation.
